Why is fuel cheaper in Martelange than in Belgium?
The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg applies lower excise duties than Belgium. In Martelange, on the Luxembourg side of the border, diesel and petrol are sold at the official Luxembourg maximum price, usually several cents per litre lower than the Belgian price.
